_D_e_s_c_r_i_p_t_i_o_n_:

     Concatenate character vectors.

_U_s_a_g_e_:

     paste(..., sep = " ", collapse = NULL)

_A_r_g_u_m_e_n_t_s_:

...: one or more R objects, to be coerced to character
          vectors.

sep: a character string to separate the terms.

collapse: an optional character string to separate the
          results.

_D_e_t_a_i_l_s_:

`paste' converts its arguments to character strings,
and concatenates them (separating them by the string
given by `sep'). If the arguments are vectors, they
are concatenated term-by-term to give a character vec-
     tor result.

If a value is specified for `collapse', the values in
the result are then concatenated into a single string,
with the elements being separated by the value of `col-
     lapse'.

_V_a_l_u_e_:

A character vector of the concatenated values.

_S_e_e _A_l_s_o_:

     `as.character', `substr', `nchar', `strsplit'.

_E_x_a_m_p_l_e_s_:

     paste(1:12) # same as as.character(..)
     paste("A", 1:6, sep = "")
     paste("Today is", date())
