_T_h_e _P_a_i_n_t_e_r_'_s _D_a_t_a _o_f _d_e _P_i_l_e_s

_D_e_s_c_r_i_p_t_i_o_n_:

     The subjective assessment, on a 0 to 20 integer scale,
     of 54 classical painters.  The painters were assessed
     on four characteristics: composition, drawing, colour
     and expression.  The data is due to the Eighteenth cen-
     tury art critic, de Piles.

_A_r_g_u_m_e_n_t_s_:

Composition: Composition score

 Drawing: Drawing score

  Colour: Colour score

Expression: Expression score

  School: The school to which a painter belongs, as indi-
          cated by a factor level code as follows: `"A"':
          Renaissance; `"B"': Mannerist; `"C"': Seicento;
          `"D"': Venetian; `"E"': Lombard; `"F"': Sixteenth
          Century; `"G"': Seventeenth Century; `"H"':
          French.
